Privacy Policy

DateWise ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by WiselyRise. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the DateWise mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Reminders & Notes: Titles, dates, notes, relationship tags, reminder types, and other details you enter when creating reminders. This data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database.
Contact Information: If you choose to import from your device contacts, we access names, dates (birthdays, anniversaries), and optionally photos. We only access contacts when you explicitly grant permission.
Photos: If you attach a photo to a reminder, it is stored locally on your device. If you enable the optional "Include Photos" setting for Google Drive backup, avatar photos are also uploaded to your personal Google Drive App Data folder. Photos are never shared with third parties or stored on our servers.

1.2 Account Information

Google Sign-In: If you sign in for Google Drive backup, we receive your Google display name, email address, and profile photo URL. We use this solely for authentication and identifying your backup data.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically

App Version & Device Info: We may collect basic device information (OS version, app version) for crash reporting and diagnostics.
We do not collect location data, advertising identifiers, or browsing history.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the DateWise reminder service.
To store and backup your reminders via Google Drive (Pro feature, opt-in only).
To send you local notifications for upcoming reminders.
To respond to support requests you send to us.

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 Local Storage

All reminder data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. Your data remains on your device unless you choose to enable Google Drive backup.

3.2 Google Drive Backup (Pro Feature)

If you enable Google Drive backup, your reminder data is stored in your personal Google Drive account's App Data folder. If you additionally enable the "Include Photos" option, avatar photos are also backed up to your Drive App Data folder. This data is only accessible by DateWise and by you. Google Drive servers comply with industry-standard security practices.

3.3 Security Measures

Local data is protected by your device's built-in security (lock screen, encryption).
Cloud data is stored in your personal Google Drive App Data folder, which is accessible only by DateWise and by you.
We use app-lock features (biometric/PIN) for additional privacy within the app.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is only processed by:

Google Sign-In & Google Drive: For authentication and cloud backup (governed by Google's Privacy Policy).
Google Play Billing: For processing the one-time Pro in-app purchase.

5. Your Rights

Access & Export: You can export all your data at any time using the local backup feature (JSON/CSV format).
Deletion: You can delete individual reminders or clear all data from within the app. Google Drive backup data can be deleted by signing into Google Drive backup and using the delete option.
Revoke Permissions: You can revoke contacts or notification permissions at any time through your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

DateWise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
